Privacy

The short version: what you type into a calculator here stays in your browser, this site sets no cookies, and there is no account to create.

Your salary never leaves your device

The calculators run entirely in your browser. The 2026 tax rules and the calculation engine are part of the page that was sent to you, so working out your take-home pay involves no request to any server. The amount you enter is not transmitted, not logged and not stored. There is no database of salaries here because there is no mechanism by which one could be filled.

Nothing is written to local storage or to a cookie either, which is why a figure you entered is gone when you reload the page. That is a deliberate trade: the site forgets rather than remembers.

Analytics

Salary After Tax uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and to measure Core Web Vitals, which are the loading and responsiveness measurements used to tell whether pages are actually fast for real readers.

A small number of events are recorded to show which tools are used: a calculation being completed, a province being selected, a comparison being run. These carry no raw amounts. Where a salary would be meaningful context it is bucketed first, into ten thousand dollar bands up to two hundred thousand and a single band above that, and only the band is recorded. A salary is close to identifying on its own, so the code that sends these events refuses to send a value that looks like an unbucketed amount and raises an error instead of transmitting it.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served through Cloudflare. Like any host, it processes the technical details of each request, including the IP address it came from, in order to deliver the page and to protect the site from abuse. That processing is a normal part of serving a website and is not used here to build any profile of a reader.

Third parties

Advertising

Advertising is not currently enabled. No advertising script is loaded, no advertising cookie is set, and no advertising network receives anything about your visit. The switch that would enable it requires a valid publisher identifier to be configured, and it fails closed: with nothing configured, no ad code is emitted at all rather than a placeholder being served.

If advertising is turned on later, this is what changes, and it is written down now so that the change is visible rather than quiet. Google AdSense would load its script on these pages. Google and its advertising partners would be able to set cookies and read device identifiers in order to select and measure advertisements, and in some regions that requires a consent mechanism, which would appear before any such cookie is set. This page would be updated to say advertising is enabled before the first advertisement is served, and the layout already reserves the space an advertisement would occupy so that enabling it cannot move content under a reader who is mid-sentence.

No figure, ranking or recommendation on this site is influenced by advertising, and no calculation would change if advertising were enabled.

What is not collected

Email you send

If you write to pharaujo@gmail.com, that email is received and read like any other email, and kept for as long as it is useful to keep the correspondence. It is not added to any list. Please do not send personal financial details: a correction can almost always be described with the salary figure and the province alone.

Children

This is a reference tool for adults about employment income. It is not directed at children and it collects nothing from anyone, including them.

Changes to this notice

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Turning advertising on would be such a change and is described above rather than left to be discovered.

Questions about any of this go to pharaujo@gmail.com.
