Terms of use
Using Salary After Tax means accepting the terms below. They are short because there is not much to them.
Estimates, not advice
Everything here is an estimate of Canadian payroll deductions built from published federal, provincial and territorial rules. It is not tax advice, financial advice, accounting advice or legal advice, and using it does not create a professional relationship of any kind.
The calculation assumes the basic personal claim on your TD1 and employment income only, and it works annually rather than per pay period. Your circumstances are not known to it. The methodology page lists every assumption and limitation in force, and reading it is the sensible step before relying on a figure. For anything consequential, consult a qualified professional or the Canada Revenue Agency or Revenu Québec directly.
No warranty
The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Real effort goes into transcribing figures correctly from the authorities that published them and into stating where the model stops, but no guarantee is made that any figure is accurate, current, complete or fit for a particular purpose. Tax rules change, authorities republish documents, and a figure that was right when it was checked can stop being right afterwards. Each page shows the date its figures were last verified for exactly that reason.
The site may be unavailable, incomplete or changed at any time without notice, and pages may be added or removed.
Acceptable use
You may:
- Use the calculators for personal or professional purposes, at no charge.
- Link to any page here, and quote a figure with attribution and a link to the page it came from.
You may not:
- Scrape, mirror or bulk-download the site, or run automated requests at a rate that burdens it.
- Republish the content wholesale, or present the calculations as your own work or as the output of your own service.
- Attempt to interfere with the site, its hosting or its security, or use it to distribute anything unlawful.
- Remove or obscure source citations when reusing a figure.
The underlying tax rates and thresholds are public facts published by government and belong to nobody. The wording, the guides, the arrangement and the software are the work of this site.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for any loss or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on anything it shows. That includes lost income, a tax liability that differs from an estimate here, a decision taken about a job offer, a salary negotiation, a move between provinces, or any other direct, indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Links to other sites
Source citations and cross-links point at government websites and at the Live In city guides. Their content is theirs, and linking to a page is not an endorsement of everything else on that domain.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and of the province in which the site is operated. If any part of them is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top of the page shows when they last were, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.
